The Hunt For Wholesome

Homegrown & Homemade

Eventually, this page of my blog will be filled with all sorts of (you guessed it) Homegrown & Homemade stuff. Recipes, endeavors, crafts and I'm sure a few trial and errors. But for this first post, I'm just going to talk a little about what this really means to me.

If you're anything like me, you cruise Pinterest a little more often than you probably should. My Pins consist largely of homemade EVERYTHING; soaps, signs, butters, cleaners, essential oil recipes, garden hacks, and the like. If you've read any of my other posts, this probably doesn't come as much of a shock to you. This is what I aspire to surround my life in. I love the idea of being able to care for my family nearly entirely from the comfort of my own home, my own backyard, and off of our own land. Self-sufficiency is the name of the game.

Here's the thing though: I have no idea what I'm doing.

No, seriously, this blog is primarily centered around a girl and a dream. Other than helping (and I use that term very lightly) ranch hand for a couple years after high school, I know nothing of this trade. I try to read and research and learn (and pin!) as much as I can, but book smarts can only take you so far before you need some hardcore hands-on experience.

This is where this segment of my blog comes into play. This is where I plan to document my little projects leading up to the moment where I feel confident enough to say, "I really have the hang of this thing now!". I want to make that soap and all those organic cleaners I've pinned, grow my own zucchini and pumpkin for holiday treats, and eventually, even learn to make my kids clothes on my own.

Here goes nothing!
